I’m David Kepron
I’m an artist, architect, author and life long maker.
For more than 3 decades I’ve put my creative energy into the making of places and things.
I’ve always been curious about, and focused on, making relevant and remarkable experiences…where people learn, live, perform, explore, shop, dine, sleep and dream.
I’m fascinated with how current circumstances shape future outcomes.
I believe in ontological design – how things we make in turn make us. Our brains and the world around us are in a continual dialogue between what we experience, what we create and how these two things help make who we are.
As the pace of change accelerates, we may see shorter and shorter deltas between tech advancement that shape brand experience places.
More and more, I believe we’ll be living in ‘the in-between.’
Our challenge as designers of change is to become more agile.
These are times for a different kind of attention.
We need to live the questions in a different way,
To spend more time asking ‘why’… to determine a new… ‘how.’
OK… full disclosure, I’m a bit of a tech geek, Brain science too. And. I see the power of how digital experiences may be shifting customer desires…from observing monuments to… experiencing moments.
Technology is pervasive in our everyday lives now, but, where will we continue to find it in the customer journey?
Our ideas about change are…changing. We’re all going to need to cultivate more creativity, curiosity and innovation. We’ll need a wider tolerance for failure and a deeper enthusiasm to keep at the hard work of transformation.
We’re at a threshold moment. An opportunity to see, inhabit and shape the world differently.
Its not about 'searching out new lands' as Marcel Proust once wrote, but seeing with new eyes.
And, listening with new ears.
